Job summary

Dundee Carers Centre seeks a Personal Assistant/Care Assistant to support a 22-year-old woman with autism in Forfar. Role involves helping her enjoy activities, accompany leisure pursuits, and promote independence within the community.

Flexibility is essential: 4–5 hours daily, driving and references required, PVG clearance, and weekend/holiday opportunities may arise. This is a female-only post under the Equality Act 2010.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Access to a vehicle with business insurance.
• Ability to join PVG Scheme.
• Ability to provide two satisfactory references.
• Female applicants only – exemption under Equality Act 2010.

Responsibilities

• Support and promote independence in the local community.
• Accompany and assist with leisure activities and hobbies.
• Encourage participation in social and community activities.
• Provide gentle prompting with personal care and hygiene routines.
• Undertake occasional light household tasks.
• Build a positive and supportive working relationship.
