Job summary

Independent Lives is seeking a compassionate, patient personal assistant to provide companionship for an 81-year-old woman with Alzheimer's in the UK. The role focuses on building trust slowly and gently, with good interpersonal skills and reliable timekeeping.

The position is for 4 hours a week, caring for a resident who may resist support at times. Applicants must have right to work in the UK and may need to undergo an Enhanced DBS check if required.

Qualifications

• Experience with elderly care or dementia preferred.
• Must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake a DBS check if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship to the 81-year-old woman.
• Assist with accessing the community and social activities.
• Offer reassurance, encouragement and emotional support as needed.
• Be respectful of privacy and confidentiality.
