Job summary

Mencap are seeking compassionate and passionate Part time Support Workers to join our incredible teams in Newhaven. You will assist with daily activities at home and in the community, providing emotional support to help individuals with learning disabilities live as independently as possible.

We value a genuine passion for helping others, strong communication, and the ability to work flexibly across evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Training will be provided and DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, sleep ins and bank holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
• Someone willing to learn new skills and strong time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and collaborate with colleagues, professionals, and families to ensure best possible person-centred support.
