Job summary

Ideal for All is seeking a Personal Assistant (PA) to support a thoughtful 25-year-old man with autism and sensory needs in Sutton Coldfield. This 38-hour, full-time role offers meaningful daily life support, enabling independence and wellbeing.

You will assist with communication using an AAC device, daily routines, and community outings, while fostering choice, interaction and safety in a calm, compassionate, patient home and community setting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting autistic people with complex needs.
• AAC experience preferred.
• Patient, calm, emotionally intelligent, and compassionate.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support communication using AAC device.
• Encourage self-expression, choice, and meaningful interaction.
• Engage him in interests (history, culture, and film).
• Provide 2:1 support in the community.
• Assist with walks, café visits, and other activities.
• Support daily routines, independence, personal care, and emotional wellbeing.
• Recognise and respond to anxiety, sensory overload, and behaviours of concern using a calm, person-centred approach.
