Job summary

Secure24 is seeking a Mental Health Transport Technician in Basingstoke, Hampshire. You will transport and support vulnerable individuals with dignity and professionalism, including time in a Section 136 suite where needed.

The role requires patience, emotional regulation, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. A full UK manual driving license (2+ years) is essential, with a fixed 4-on/4-off rota and comprehensive training provided.

Qualifications

• Calm, patient and emotionally resilient.
• Able to follow professional boundaries and expectations.
• Experience or training in de-escalation and handling distressed individuals.

Responsibilities

• Transport individuals under the Mental Health Act or in crisis, with police and mental health professionals.
• Remain with patients in a Section 136 suite for extended periods as needed.
• Support distressed or emotionally overwhelmed individuals with dignity and care.
• Maintain professional boundaries while offering reassurance and a calm presence.
• Work with clinical staff following Secure24 procedures and handovers.
• Record observations accurately and participate in safe handovers.
