Cygnet Hospital Taunton is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join a dedicated team supporting adults in a specialist mental health hospital setting. The role involves 38.5 hours per week with shifts across days, nights and weekends.

Salary starts at £14.45 per hour with progression to £14.75 after 3 months and £15.00 after 18 months. Driving is desirable and local commuting is expected. Apply to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Qualifications

• Experience in health and social care, mental health, learning disabilities or complex needs.
• Live locally to Taunton or can reliably commute to Cygnet Hospital Taunton.
• Able to work across a rota including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Ideally hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
• Calm, patient, resilient and able to work well under pressure.
• Excellent communicators and strong team players.
• Provide a trusting, stimulating and varied environment for service users.
• Committed to empowering people and supporting independence.

• Providing high-quality care and support to service users, patients and residents
• Offering emotional and practical support to help individuals feel safe, respected and understood
• Supporting people with daily routines, independence and wellbeing
• Learning about each individual’s specific needs and providing person-centred support
• Assisting with medical, welfare and physical health needs, reporting concerns
• Safeguarding vulnerable adults and maintaining professional boundaries
