Job summary

HealthJobs4U.com Ltd is seeking an experienced Live-In Care Worker to provide 24-hour support to a client with complex care needs in their own home. The role involves close collaboration with the domiciliary care team, and requires hands-on personal care, observation and effective communication.

You will work in a palliative care setting, promoting dignity, choice and independence, while monitoring health changes, assisting with medication, nutrition and continence, and coordinating with family,

Qualifications

• Experience in live-in or complex care.
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care.
• Excellent observation and communication skills.
• Ability to work within a palliative care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including washing, grooming, oral hygiene and dressing
• Support with catheter, stoma and continence care
• Assist with medication as trained and authorised
• Support with repositioning and pressure-area care, including monitoring an existing pressure sore
• Provide nutrition and hydration support in line with the prescribed liquid diet and dysphagia guidance
• Monitor changes in health, pain, breathing, fatigue and general wellbeing and report concerns promptly
• Support with essential household tasks, laundry and maintaining a safe environment
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Work alongside domiciliary carers, family, District Nurses, GP and other healthcare professionals
• Promote dignity, choice and independence wherever possible
