Job summary

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm Kitchen Assistant to join Grove Park Care Home in Headingley, Leeds. You will support the catering function, help prepare meals and beverages, and maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen to ensure high-quality service for residents.

The role requires a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, awareness of safety practices, and a positive, flexible approach to teamwork. DBS disclosure will be arranged by Avery, and eligibility to work in the UK must be shown.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and high standards of personal hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
• Be an efficient worker capable of a high level of sustained physical effort and able to handle a demanding workload.
• Demonstrate initiative and a flexible, team-oriented approach.
• Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.

Responsibilities

• Support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean environment for safe production of meals and beverages.
• Ensure high standards of hygiene in the kitchen and work areas.
• Contribute to teamwork and respond promptly to instructions.
• Advise on supply and quality of items and ensure timely ordering of replacements.
• Respect residents and their visitors, upholding dignity and individuality.
