Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join Horse Fair Care Home in Staffordshire. You will support the catering function, help with food preparation, and maintain a clean environment to ensure safe production of meals and beverages for residents.

You will work as part of a team, follow hygiene and safety standards, order supplies as needed, and show care and respect for residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrates high standards of personal hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, moving and handling, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Efficient worker capable of physical effort and handling demanding workload.
• Demonstrate initiative and flexible teamwork.
• Exhibit a caring and understanding attitude toward residents.

Responsibilities

• Support catering in food preparation and maintain a clean kitchen for safe meal production.
• Contribute to high quality service and teamwork; follow reasonable instructions.
• Advise on supplies and ensure timely ordering of items used in tasks.
• Respect residents and visitors, upholding dignity and individuality.
