Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant for Scholars Mews Care Home in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will support the catering function, help with food preparation, and maintain a clean kitchen environment to ensure safe, high-quality meals for residents.

The ideal candidate will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, understand health and safety practices, and demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a caring attitude toward residents.

Qualifications

• Hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrates high standards of personal hygiene.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Efficient worker with the ability to manage a demanding workload.
• Demonstrates initiative and flexible team working.
• Exhibits a caring and understanding attitude towards residents.

Responsibilities

• Support the catering function in food preparation and maintain a clean kitchen environment to ensure safe production of meals and beverages.
• Contribute to team working and respond positively to colleagues; act on reasonable work instructions promptly.
• Advise on the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring timely ordering of replacements.
• Respect the dignity and individuality of residents in all interactions.
