Job summary

Fairview Court in Bristol is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our team and help deliver quality meals to residents in the care home. You’ll support the Chef with meal preparation, handle fresh ingredients, and ensure the kitchen remains clean and compliant with Health and Safety standards.

No prior care-setting experience is required, but a caring, team-oriented attitude, basic food safety knowledge, and weekend flexibility are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or kitchen environments preferred.
• Basic food safety knowledge required or willingness to learn.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and different shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen environment.
• Cleaning all crockery, cutlery and food preparation equipment.
• Assist in preparation of meals for service.
• Prepare food and ingredients for service.
