Job summary

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust in Wolverhampton is looking for an Imaging Assistant (Band 2) to join the Breast Imaging Department. You will support radiographers and consultants, providing clinical and administrative assistance to help deliver a safe diagnostic service.

You should have GCSEs including English and Maths, experience in caring or clinical settings, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in four subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
• Experience in a caring or clinical environment, committed to delivering high quality patient care.
• Highly motivated and able to work effectively as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills and a patient focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiographers and consultants in the delivery of imaging examinations and procedures in Radiology.
• Prepare examination rooms, trolleys and clinical areas to support safe and efficient care.
• Chaperone patients during examinations in accordance with Trust policy.
• Support patients before, during and after examinations maintaining dignity, privacy and respect at all times.
• Maintain clean, safe and stocked environments that comply with infection prevention, health and safety requirements.
• Welcome and support patients, relatives and carers in a professional, compassionate and patient-centred manner.
• Provide reassurance, practical assistance and effective communication, responding appropriately to individual patient needs.
• Act as a first point of contact, managing enquiries and escalating concerns when required.
• Administrative duties including patient registration, appointment management, record maintenance and use of Trust information systems.
• Respond to telephone enquiries, maintain confidentiality and comply with information governance standards.
• Maintain stock levels, support audit and data collection and contribute to service improvements.
• Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams and support services to ensure efficient patient pathways.
• Participate in mandatory training, appraisal and continuing professional developement.
• Demonstrate Trust values, uphold safeguarding responsibilities and work flexibly across Radiology services to meet service needs.
