Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant at Purley Gardens Care Home in Purley, Surrey. You will join a team dedicated to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and laundry service in a supportive, caring environment.

As part of the role you will follow SOPs for housekeeping, show compassion to residents, and work flexibly to cover duties with a positive, can-do attitude. DBS disclosure will be required and eligibility to work in the UK must be demonstrated.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
• The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties according to worksheet instructions.
• Understand the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensure that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
