Job summary

Age UK Lancashire is recruiting a Support at Home Worker to visit customers in their own homes, delivering tasks like cleaning, shopping, laundry and companionship. You will support older people to stay active and connected with their communities, with flexible hours and a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week.

The role covers Fylde and Wyre, requires a caring, reliable and self-motivated individual with strong organisation and communication skills; a valid driving licence and access to a car

Qualifications

• Caring and empathetic attitude toward older people.
• Ability to lone work / work on own initiative.
• Maintain professional boundaries.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Digital skills – including using a smart phone and emails.
• Ability to undertake physical activity in clients' homes.
• Valid driving licence and use of a car for business purposes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high quality, punctual and professional service to customers in their homes.
• Undertake tasks as required by the customer (cleaning, laundry, shopping).
• Provide companionship and social support, and assist carers where needed.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, families and carers.
• Help grow the local customer base in collaboration with the coordinator.
