Job summary

Helping Hands is seeking a flexible Care Assistant in Sunderland to provide companionship and essential support in clients’ homes. You’ll assist with personal care, mobility, light housekeeping and errands, with training provided and a focus on dignity and safety.

There is no requirement for prior care experience; a UK driving licence is preferred for travel between visits, and you’ll be paid £14.80 per hour with a route to a rewarding career in community care.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, meaningful companionship to customers in their own homes.
• Support with personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing and toileting.
• Assist with mobility needs to help customers stay safe and confident.
• Oversee and administer medication in line with care plans.
• Help with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and meal preparation.
• Run essential errands, from food shopping to collecting prescriptions.
• Offer calm, considerate support that helps customers feel truly cared for.
