Job summary

The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Healthcare Support Worker for the Day Surgery unit. You will support patients through admission, surgery and discharge, under supervision of registered nurses, with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• GCSE passes or equivalent.
• Basic IT skills.
• NVQ Level III Care Award - Direct Care or equivalent.
• QCF Level 3 qualification in healthcare (NVQ, BTEC or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and report abnormalities.
• Promote patient privacy and dignity.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist with patient assessments and handover to Registered Nurse.
• Provide support and reassurance to patients.
• Maintain a safe environment and report hazards.
• Assist in equipment maintenance and cleaning.
• Assist with supplies and ward cleanliness.
• Adhere to infection control.
• Safely obtain, transmit and store care information.
• Perform ECGs and phlebotomy.
