Job summary

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Health Care Support Worker to provide compassionate care in the critical care setting. The role involves supporting registered nurses, assisting with clinical procedures and maintaining a safe, respectful environment for patients and families.

You will work within defined boundaries of competence, demonstrate the Trust's values, and participate in mandatory training and development activities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (RQF accredited) or NHS England accredited Care Certificate.
• Moving and Handling Certificate.
• Basic Life Support Certificate.
• Able to demonstrate a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
• Evidence of practical training or education in a care setting.
• Previous experience in a health care setting, Practical skills in providing essential aspects of care.
• Manual handling skills.
• Support of junior staff to develop.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high quality care to patients, service users, carers and families.
• Support registered nursing staff within the critical care setting and assist with procedures and equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean and therapeutic environment while protecting patient privacy and dignity.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Attend team/ward/department meetings and participate in audits as required.
