Job summary

Herts at Home is seeking a compassionate Community Care Assistant to support clients in their own homes in Royston. The role is part-time (20 hours per week) with early and late shifts, including some weekends.

You will supervise and mentor clients within a community setting, with duties spanning personal care, medication administration, meal support, and documentation. The role requires a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
• Flexibility in schedule to accommodate client needs.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to clients in their homes or community settings.
• Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Administer medications according to prescribed schedules.
• Monitor and record clients' vital signs and report changes or concerns to healthcare professionals.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation, ensuring dietary needs are met.
• Carry out moving and assisting techniques specific to clients' needs.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to clients.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress.
