Job summary

Beechville Beechville Beechville? MHA is seeking a Chaplain to support spiritual and pastoral life in a home or scheme. You will nurture the spiritual wellbeing of residents, families and staff, lead worship, and build strong links with local churches and faith communities.

The role requires reflective, approachable individuals with empathy for older people and dementia care, and the ability to travel occasionally for meetings or training.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral or care work with diverse spiritual needs.
• Ability to lead worship and/or fellowship groups.
• Strong communication and listening skills for diverse communities.
• Flexible hours and willingness to travel occasionally for meetings.
• Commitment to personal development and MHA values.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain spiritual and worship life in the home/scheme.
• Provide pastoral care to residents, families and staff.
• Be first point of contact for pastoral support guidance for staff.
• Lead worship, fellowship groups and other spiritual activities.
• Build links with local faith communities and leaders.
• Visit residents in hospitals or other homes when required.
• Advocate for MHA within local faith communities.
• Attend staff and residents’/relatives’ meetings as appropriate.
• Work in line with MHA policies including safeguarding and health & safety.
