Job summary

Curaa is a family-run, community-driven care provider and we are looking for a Domestic/Laundry Assistant to join our team in the care home setting. You will manage washing, drying, ironing, and linen storage to ensure residents receive clean, well-maintained garments and linens.

Responsibilities include maintaining linen stocks, handling soiled laundry per infection control, and keeping equipment clean while storing cleaning chemicals safely.

Responsibilities

• See to all washing, drying and ironing of linens and residents’ personal clothing, carrying out repairs when able and needed, keeping records and report of any damaged items.
• Sort and store dirty laundry into appropriate wash loads. Deliver, hang and store the linens and residents' clothes to their rooms, ensuring correct return of personal clothing.
• Keep linen stocks and collaborate with the Care Team to ensure that the clean linen is ready for use and that soiled linen is handled efficiently and in line with infection control policy.
• Ensure laundry equipment is cleaned and maintained; safely store chemicals and cleaning products during and after use.
• Vacuum rooms and corridors, empty waste bins and dispose of waste bags per policy.
• Clean glass, mirrors, furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
• Dust cobwebs and mop floor surfaces.
• Clean bathrooms and toilets with care to germs and infestation guidelines.
• Ensure rooms are odour-free.
• Report any equipment or fittings malfunctions and replacing cleaning materials as needed.
• Adhere to COSHH policy and maintain client and business confidentiality.
