Job summary

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant at Purley Gardens Care Home in Purley, Surrey. You will work as part of a team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and laundry, following our standard operating procedures to ensure hotel service levels are met.

Key duties include completing cleaning tasks, understanding surface care and cleaning materials, and respecting residents’ dignity and personal space.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Moving & Handling, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to high-quality housekeeping/laundry service for residents.
• Ability to be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials.
• Ensuring residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space is respected.
