Job summary

Proud to Care Devon is hiring for a compassionate care worker to join our team in Barnstaple. You’ll spend meaningful time with residents, getting to know their routines and preferences, and supporting personal care with dignity and respect.

You will help residents living with dementia, respond calmly in distressing moments, and keep care records up to date. A strong team approach, training opportunities, and a commitment to person-centred care are at the heart of the role.

Qualifications

• Personal care is provided with dignity and respect.
• Ability to support residents with dementia and recognise non-verbal cues.
• Record observations and changes on electronic care records.
• Work as part of a supportive care team.

Responsibilities

• Spend time with residents to understand routines and preferences.
• Provide personal care in a dignified, unhurried way.
• Support residents with dementia and interpret non-verbal communication.
• Respond calmly to distress and record changes accurately.
• Assist with meals and activities, both in-house and in the community.
• Work with your team to share responsibility and support colleagues.
