Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Care Assistant for Greensand House Care Home in Redhill. You will deliver high standards of personal care and support the care team to ensure continuity of services for residents.

No previous experience is required as a thorough induction and training programme is provided to build confidence in the role. DBS check is required and cost covered by Avery.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards the residents and other people in the home.
• Efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members.
• Able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
• DBS disclosure check will be required and cost borne by Avery Healthcare.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents in all personal hygiene care to ensure independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas (weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, infections) and escalating identified risks promptly.
• Acting courteously towards residents and visitors, respecting dignity and individuality.
• Practising safe systems of work across all tasks.
