Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking Care Assistants to support older adults in our homes, delivering compassionate care at night and during the day. You’ll help with personal care, promote independence, and build trusting relationships with residents and families.

No prior social care experience is required; school leavers or return-to-work applicants are welcome. You’ll join a supportive team with training opportunities and a clear path to professional growth in the local care sector.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care isn't essential; school leavers or returning to work are welcome.
• Ability to provide person-centred care and tailor care planning to residents.
• Strong observation and communication skills are important for quality care.

Responsibilities

• Support daily/nightly living: help with personal care and ensure resident comfort, wellbeing and safety.
• Provide person-centred care and tailor care planning to meet individual needs.
• Promote independence and support residents in self-care.
• Build relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Monitor mental and physical health at night and respond promptly to signs.
