Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm and dedicated Care Assistant for Greenholme House Care Home in Burley in Wharfedale. You will deliver high standards of personal care and support the care team to ensure residents receive continual, compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents and staff.
• Efficient worker who can carry instructions from others.
• Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of personal care and contribute to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene to maintain independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognise clinical risk areas (weight loss, pressure sores, falls, infections) and escalate risks promptly.
• Act courteously towards residents and visitors, upholding dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practice safe systems of work across all tasks.
