Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Care Assistant to deliver high standards of personal care and support the care team in our Reading homes. You’ll help maintain residents’ dignity, independence and wellbeing in a welcoming, supportive environment.

Experience is not required as full induction and training are provided; DBS clearance and eligibility to work in the UK are required. You’ll join a values-driven team committed to compassionate care and continuous development.

Qualifications

• Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to show initiative and respect residents and colleagues.
• Efficient worker able to take direction and adapt to a range of tasks.
• Willingness to participate in induction and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene, ensuring dignity and independence.
• Identify and report weight loss, pressure areas, falls risk, and infections promptly.
• Treat residents and visitors with courtesy, maintaining dignity and individuality.
• Follow safe systems of work across all tasks.
