Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Care Assistant for Winchester Heights Care Home in Winchester, Hampshire. You will deliver high standards of personal care and support the care team to ensure continuity of services for residents.

Experience is not required, as a thorough induction and training programme is provided. DBS disclosure is required and cost covered by Avery, with proof of eligibility to work in the UK and a values-based culture of respect, compassion and accountability.

Qualifications

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents and other people in the home.
• Efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members.
• Adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of personal care and contribute to the care team to ensure continuity of services for residents.
• Assist residents in personal hygiene care, preserving independence, dignity and respect.
• Recognise and report clinical risk areas such as weight loss, pressure sores, falls or infections.
• Be courteous towards residents and their visitors, upholding dignity and individuality.
• Follow safe systems of work across tasks.
