Job summary

EMED Group is seeking compassionate individuals to join our Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) team in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. You will transport patients to and from medical facilities, working with colleagues or alone, and play a key role in patient care.

No ambulance experience is required as full training is provided. A UK manual driving licence and physical fitness for handling patients are essential, with shifts across 05:00–00:00, seven days a week.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence held.
• Able to work flexible shifts between 05:00 and 00:00, Monday to Sunday.
• Experience in a care background (HCA, Support worker) advantageous but not essential.
• Willing to pass Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transporting patients to appointments and between healthcare facilities, sometimes with a colleague.
• Build rapport with patients and their relatives.
• Assist with patient handling, lifting, and safe transfer in and out of ambulances.
• Ensure ambulance is kept clean and ready for use.
