Job summary

Abbeyfield is seeking an Activities Coordinator at Lee House in Wimbledon to design and execute engaging activities for older residents, including those with dementia. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:30–17:00, and ensure activities are safe, stimulating, and meaningful while collaborating with staff and volunteers.

The role emphasizes person-centered activity planning, strong communication, and the ability to build supportive relationships with residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Must be highly organised and able to work on own initiative.
• Creative activity planning with empathy for older residents, including those with dementia.
• Strong communication skills and tact in sensitive situations.
• Ability to build relationships and work well with staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Provide a varied range of social activities suitable for residents.
• Tailor activities to each resident's needs and abilities.
• Get to know residents and involve them in activity development.
• Work in partnership with staff and volunteers to support involvement.
• Plan supplies and resolve any concerns to run activities smoothly.
• Maintain records of resident involvement and planned activities.
