Portsmouth City Council is seeking a part-time Company Secretary & Executive / Governance Support Professional to join The De Curci Trust. The ideal candidate will offer governance support and administrative functions, contributing to effective governance across the schools. Flexibility is key, with opportunities for CPD and training provided. Closing date for applications is 9am on Monday, 16 June 2025.

Qualifications

  • Experience in governance or clerking is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Suitable administrative and PA skills are accepted from other industries.
  • Willingness to partake in CPD opportunities and training.

  • Attend Board meetings, including some evening sessions.

Pay Band: 8

Part Time: 7.5 hours per week during term time; plus 15 additional meetings of 3 hours each (typically early evening); plus, the equivalent of 22.5 hours to be spread evenly over school holiday periods.

Salary (FTE): £35,235 to £37,937

Actual salary: £7,534.72 to £8,112.52

The De Curci Trust is seeking a highly organised governance professional to provide administrative and clerking support to the Board and Executive Team. The successful candidate will join a thriving and supportive Trust and, as Company Secretary, play a key role in contributing to high standards of governance across the Trust's schools.

Whilst experience of school governance /clerking would be desirable, we welcome applicants from other industries who may have suitable administrative / PA skills and experience. We believe in offering CPD opportunities for all colleagues, and relevant training would be available for the new postholder

The role requires flexibility to meet the needs of the Board, including some evening meetings, whilst offering the opportunity for some home working. Exact working patterns and arrangements can be discussed at interview.
