Job summary

Arlington Resource Management Ltd in North London is seeking a sole-charge Finance Manager / Company Accountant to oversee all day-to-day and monthly accounting. You will manage bookkeeping, purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations, cash flow, and management accounts in a hands-on role for a long-term local opportunity.

The role requires experience with Sage 50, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate year-end preparation with external accountants.

Qualifications

• Hands-on finance role with end-to-end responsibilities.
• Experience in small/close-knit businesses is a plus.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Daily bookkeeping using Sage Line 50.
• Process purchase ledger invoices and supplier statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash flow.
• Raise sales invoices and monitor aged debtors; credit control.
• Prepare supplier payments runs and reconcile statements.
• Undertake month-end procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Handle VAT and CIS returns; assist with year-end prep.

North London - This small but highly successful family-run business in North London is seeking a sole-charge hands-on Finance Manager / Company Accountant.

Reporting to the MD / Owner, the Finance Manager / Company Accountant role will be responsible for all day to day and monthly accounting including:

• Daily bookkeeping on Sage Line 50
• Processing purchase ledger invoices
• Bank reconciliations and cash flow management
• Raising sales ledger invoices, credit control, monitoring aged debtors
• Supplier statement reconciliations and payments runs
• Month-end procedures and reconciliations
• Balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
• Processing monthly management accounts
• Inter-company reconciliations
• VAT and CIS returns
• Year-end preparation for external accountants
• Ad hoc responsibilities for the MD / Owner

This is a hands-on Finance Manager / Company Accountant / Financial Controller role that needs an experienced accountant looking for a long-term local opportunity - 5 days a week in the office - at a friendly family-run business.
