Job summary

North Yorkshire Centre for Independent Living is seeking 1–2 Support Assistants to accompany a gentleman at home and support his hobbies. You will also help with some light domestic tasks, paperwork, and meal planning, while ensuring discretion and a mature, respectful approach.

There are 60 flexible hours per month (about 15 per week) on an ad-hoc basis; days and times can be arranged jointly. Prior support work is preferred but not required, and there is no personal care involved.

Qualifications

• Experience in support work; 1 year preferred.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work around client activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and support with hobbies and daily tasks.
• Assist with domestic duties, paperwork, and food organisation.
• Plan and accompany the client on community activities as mutually agreed.

Job description

We are looking for 1 or 2 Support Assistants to support a gentleman with his hobbies and within his home. He is wanting someone not only for support but to be a companion, to help with some domestic duties, paperwork, food organisation and going out into the community.

There is no personal care involved, he requires support putting on his socks and shoes, he enjoys going for walks, going to the gym, swimming and the cinema. The assistant needs to be discreet, friendly and have a mature attitude.

There are 60 flexible hours per month available, (average of 15 hours per week) on an Ad-hoc basis, days and times to be mutually agreed.
