Job summary

North Yorkshire Centre for Independent Living in Malton is seeking a Companion/Support Assistant to assist a 20-year-old man with Down’s Syndrome. The role focuses on enabling access to hobbies and social activities during college holidays, including weeks with flexible hours.

The ideal candidate should be age-appropriate, share similar interests, hold a full clean driving licence with access to a car, and be comfortable driving to activities. DBS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Support a 20-year-old man with Down's Syndrome to access hobbies and social activities during college holidays (17 weeks per year).
• Provide age-appropriate companionship and practical assistance.
• Hours include 2 x 6 flexible hours per week over college holidays and 3 x 6 flexible hours in the 10-week summer holidays.
• On-site, part-time, permanent role with pay £13.79–£20 per hour.
