To oversee welfare casework and oversee a group of Community Support Workers providing direct support to clients, we are looking for a highly qualified and experienced Community Welfare Officer. Coordinating multi-agency responses, managing complex cases, and making sure all work satisfies quality and safety requirements are all part of your job description.

Principal Duties:

• Make thorough evaluations of the welfare, housing, and social needs of your customers, taking into account those who are vulnerable or have complicated issues.
• Create and manage specialised assistance strategies to provide long-lasting, beneficial results.
• Give expert counsel on housing law, welfare rights, and statutory and volunteer service access.
• Oversee Community Support Workers, including professional development, performance evaluation, and supervision.
• Examine and approve Community Support Workers’ casework, making sure it is accurate, compliant, and follows best practices.
• Work with local authorities, housing providers, and health professionals to plan multi-agency meetings.
• Serve as a point of escalation for complicated or high-risk cases.
• Conduct training courses on welfare-related subjects for employees and community stakeholders.
• Keep thorough case files and write performance summaries for donors and management.

Key Requirements and Experience:

• A degree (or comparable experience) in community development, psychology, social work, social policy, or a similar discipline.
• substantial background in social services, community development, housing assistance, welfare rights, or complex case management.
• proven ability to manage or oversee employees in a community service or welfare context.
• Strong knowledge of housing laws, community support services, welfare systems, and safeguarding regulations in the UK.
• Outstanding leadership, negotiating, and communication abilities.
