Job summary

Sue Ryder is seeking a Rotate Van Driver to join our charity shop team in Skelton. The role involves delivering and collecting stock across local areas, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and excellent customer service.

You will work 30 hours per week at a rate of £12.98 per hour, contributing to fundraising efforts that support specialist palliative and end-of-life care. The position offers a community-focused workplace and regular weekday hours, with weekends on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Experienced driver with a valid UK licence (B1 category) and comfortable handling a commercial vehicle.
• Customer service experience is essential for engaging with customers and volunteers.
• IT skills including emails, instant messaging, and basic data entry are required.
• Ability to plan routes and schedules, using maps and email for coordinating deliveries.
• Strong organisational skills to manage time, paperwork and vehicle checks.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for collection and delivery of stock within established timescales across sales territories.
• Maintain security of stock during transport and handle stock to minimise losses.
• Complete and comply with admin processes, health and safety reports, vehicle checks, fuel purchases and Gift Aid paperwork.
• Ensure vehicle is legally compliant, clean, and serviced as required (MOT, repairs).
• Use email and maps to plan efficient routes and schedules, optimizing fuel use.
• Champion the Sue Ryder brand in-store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
