The Community Support Worker will assist an adult male with developmental disabilities with their physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional, and daily living skills development. Community Support Workers in this role will assist the Persons Served to achieve the greatest degree of independence and quality of life possible while working with behavioral issues. Experience with FASD, ADHD, Autism, and/or Down Syndrome preferred. As daily documentation is a key component of this role, general computer skills are required.Thorough training will be provided for the successful applicant .

Proof of full vaccination may be required

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A certificate or diploma in Community Services, Health Care Aid, Human Services, or other related disciplines
  • 1 – 2 years experience in social services is preferred
  • Related experience in working with vulnerable populations or behavioral challenges will also be considered an asset(please outline type of experience in the ‘message to the employer’ section during the application process)
  • Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver’s license
  • Knowledge of and the ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (agency conducted, expenses covered)
  • Effective written and verbal communication
