Autism Support Worker - Wareham

Here at Autism Unlimited, we run a dedicated adult services programme. We are currently recruiting for one of our care packages in the West. We seek a mature, spontaneous, fun, adaptable, and proactive individual to join our community team in Wareham.

Requirements:

  • Full Driving license and access to your own vehicle are essential.

The role:

Jack is in his early 30s. He enjoys long country walks, trips to Paultons Park, musical theatre, Disney films, music, and reading. He has an established routine and communicates mainly through PECS boards, requiring staff to support his communication and daily choices.

Support worker duties include:

  • Sharing skills and knowledge to promote independence and good life skills.
  • Maintaining accurate records related to care plans, finances, appointments, and medication.
  • Following and adapting support plans to ensure comfort and happiness.
  • Providing personal care, including hygiene, bathing, and medication support.
  • Participating in a 12-week induction with training, shadowing, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Opportunity to earn an accredited qualification after probation.
  • Access to a learning portal for ongoing skill development.
