Would you like to make a real difference to someone’s life, promoting their independence and supporting them within their own home?

We are looking for caring and compassionate people to join our Support at Home Service in Eden, as Community Support Workers

The Support at Home service offers support to individuals recovering from illness or surgery and those facing a general decline in health. It helps prevent unnecessary hospital admissions by enabling care at home. The main goals are to promote independence, help individuals regain skills, and ensure safety while living at home.

Support at Home is a 365 day a year, 7 day a week service. Typically, our shifts run between the hours of 7:30 am – 9:30 pm and are worked over a fixed fortnightly working pattern. This will include weekend and Bank Holiday rotas.

About this opportunity

As a Community Support Worker, you will get the opportunity to know people individually and support their wellbeing through both physical and emotional care.

Responsibilities can include assisting with medication and providing personal care such as washing and dressing, meal preparation and supporting with mobility needs. Help may also be needed to establish daily routines which may include household tasks and confidence building.

Depending on the individual, the level of support needed may vary but your focus will be on encouraging them to achieve or maintain independence, allowing them to remain living in their local community, in the comfort of their own home.

In this role you will build positive relationships with the people you support and encourage them to connect with their local community where possible, whether this be attending a club at the local community centre or planning to go shopping. Your support will enable them to regain or retain skills and achieve the goals set out in their care plan.

Who we are looking for

Our vision for Adult Social Care is “People living in a place they call home with the people and things that they love, in communities where they look out for one another, doing the things that matter to them.”

We are looking for the right people, with the right qualities and we can support you with fully paid training and development. If you’re friendly, compassionate and want to make a difference to people’s lives’, we would love to speak with you!

***Due to the nature if this role there will be a need to respond to service users who will not always be accessible via public transport, therefore there is a requirement to travel independently via a motorised vehicle***
