Cumberland Council in Carlisle is seeking a Community Support Worker to help adults with disabilities and mental health needs live independently. You will provide personal care, assist with daily tasks, and encourage autonomy on a permanent basis. Sleep-in shifts also available with additional overnight pay.

In Supported Living, every person has their own home and their own goals, and your role is to help them achieve them. You might be supporting someone to develop life skills, build routines, stay connected with their community, or simply feel more confident day-to-day. Alongside emotional support, you may also help with personal care, medication, or everyday tasks, always encouraging independence and choice. No two days look the same, and every shift brings a new opportunity to make someone’s life brighter.
You’ll also take part in sleep-in shifts that provide overnight reassurance and support when needed, with an additional £43.12 per night on top of your hourly pay.
