Location: Liverpool (Mill Street)

Salary: up to £13.75 per hour

Hours: 35 hours per week

Working in brain injury rehabilitation involves encouraging and guiding individuals to regain skills and confidence for independent living. You will support them through their journey as they overcome challenges and achieve milestones, making a significant difference in their lives.

About Brainkind

Brainkind is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. We operate assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals that provide expert neurorehabilitation to help individuals recover lost skills and meet personal goals. Our passionate team works together to deliver high-quality support.

The Role

Based at Mill Street, a supported living service opened in Spring 2021, supporting people with acquired brain injury, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments. The service offers 13 self-contained flats and is managed by a Registered Service Manager, Nicola, along with Team Leaders and Support Workers. The role is varied, involving organizing and participating in diverse activities.

Our focus is on supporting residents to live as independently as they wish and to be fully included in their communities. Responsibilities include personal care, environmental management, medication support, health appointments, meal preparation, and cooking.

About you

No specific experience is required; your personality and values are what matter. We can train you to become a skilled Community Support Worker if you:

  • Have genuine empathy, positivity, patience, and resilience to support residents through rehabilitation
  • Enjoy teamwork and take pride in your work
  • Possess excellent face-to-face communication skills and good literacy
  • Have good time management skills and can prioritize tasks
