COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER-Day hours and Waking Nights

We are always looking for great people to provide great care in our Community.

We provide Care and support to adults living at home or other facilities. From Companionship support through to ‘Palliative’ and ‘End of Life’ care services. We provide all aspects of personal care and domestic support to individuals on a short or long term basis whilst enabling them to maintain their independence and improve their well-being where possible. We will never provide less than 2 hours support in the day. We also provide ‘live in’ support and, in addition, can provide a break for relative, friend or carer by arrangement.

  • JOB TITLE: Community Support Worker-Days
  • WAGES: £12.60 to £13.45 per hour
  • TRAVEL EXPENSES: 45p per mile after the first 10 miles to your first client and similarly, home from your last client. We also pay the same rate for every mile between clients, plus travel time.
  • NEST PENSION – available for all qualifying employees.

  • RESPONSIBLE TO: Office team
  • IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIPS: Carers Break team, people who use the service, their relatives and friends and other relevant professionals.
  • MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: You will be providing the very best quality of care and support to a range of clients. Mostly this will be provided in the homes of the people themselves, once in a while you may be asked to support individuals in a residential facility or even a hospital ward if required. We provide bespoke care and support that ranges from Companionship to Complex end of life care.
  • MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • You will work to a detailed support plan designed with our clients and/ or their loved ones and professional clinical staff.
  • You will monitor, observe and provide detailed feedback on all relevant changes witnessed during your client visits.
  • You will endeavour to uphold the personal dignity of the client at all times.
  • You will demonstrate absolute respect for the client,their support network, their personal environment and their belongings at all times.

Carers Break works to the local multi-agency procedures on the protection of vulnerable adults.

  • You will have or be willing to attain a ‘Care Certificate’
  • You will be reliable and flexible within reason.
  • You will have basic computer literacy and ability to use mobile phone apps.
  • You will treat people who use the service, their families and representatives, other healthcare professionals, and all colleagues with dignity and respect.
Relevant Experience: Desirable –
  • You may have proven experience of supporting people in the community.
  • You have experience of supporting family members
  • You will be willing to work in line with all current equality and diversity legislation.
Other requirements
  • You will be a qualified driver with no more than 3 points on your current valid UK licence.
  • Your vehicle will have a current MOT certificate and valid business insurance that allows you to carry our clients if required on assignments.
  • Willingness to be flexible with your availability to assist us in meeting the needs of the service we provide. This is particularly relevant is covering sickness or annual leave of team members.
