About the Role

  • Oversee the operational management, staff supervision & development of the Community Support team and establish appropriate targets to promote effective community engagement and ensure the outputs are in accordance with the Council's Community Development & Good Relations Strategies.
  • Develop and maintain good communication links within the voluntary and community sector by encouraging effective networking and promotion of best practice in community development & good relations.
  • Develop local policies, service level agreements and systems to ensure the efficient delivery of a need based service that is effectively promoted and communication to all stakeholders.
  • To be responsible for the co-ordination and completion of reports, financial claims and monitoring templates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • To monitor the performance of all Community Support functions and take corrective action in order to resolve any adverse variances.
  • The post holder should be aware that the responsibilities and functional areas of the post may be subject to change as a result of organisational change. The Council therefore reserves the right to change the duties of the post by adding to or amending the range of functional responsibilities. The post holder will be required to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs and requirements of the organisation.

Required Qualifications

  • Three years' relevant experience managing Community Development or Good Relations programme within at least 3 of the following areas:-
  • Supervision of staff and/or volunteers
  • Working with a range of stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes
  • Policy assessment & development
  • Managing a budget
  • Delivering a community event
  • Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in , they must demonstrate a minimum of six years' experience as outlined in
