A bit about this role?

This is an unusual Hybrid position and will be an interesting and varied role for the right candidate. Thera East Anglia has secured funding through Norfolk’s MSIF (Market Sustainability & Improvement Fund) to improve Workforce Capacity and Retention Measures, leading to sustainability and improvement within Norfolk’s Adult Social Care market.

We aim to find a new Community Support Leader to support the development of new Supported Living & Floating Support around Norwich, with a focus on recruitment and supporting Thera East Anglia’s recruitment needs. Although this is a fixed-term contract, it is likely to become permanent.

You will gather information about our Support Locations and the 'Ideal Support Worker' profile, working closely with our Recruitment and Resourcing Department to create bespoke, person-centred job adverts. You will monitor applicants and coordinate with Location Managers to process applications efficiently.

This role is crucial in speeding up our applicant processing and ensuring high-quality support for our clients.

What does a Community Support Leader do?

Community Support Leaders connect people with their communities and support them to live well. They are proactive, friendly, and excellent communicators. This role is part of Thera East Anglia’s Management Team and involves leading, developing, and inspiring staff to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused support.

What experience do I need?

Previous supervisory experience in social care, strong communication skills, team leadership, computer literacy, budget management, initiative, and problem-solving abilities are essential.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Line management of Support & Senior Support staff
  • Overseeing Supported Living and Floating Support operations
  • Promoting high-quality support outcomes
  • Quality assurance and audits
  • Liaising with professionals involved in support
  • Providing on-call support
  • Leading recruitment efforts
Skills and qualities required:
  • Experience with adults with learning disabilities
  • Knowledge of person-centred planning, risk assessment, rota management
  • Proven outcomes for individuals
  • IT skills, knowledge of 'Iplanit' (desirable)
  • Understanding of CQC and Safeguarding standards
  • Patience, calmness, effective communication
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills
  • Experience across multiple sites
