Work directly with our dedicated health visiting teams and innovative family hubs to champion and deliver a vital infant feeding program that will truly make a difference in the lives of families across Bury.

Using the advanced skills required, the HV Specialist for Infant Feeding will work in conjunction with the Health Visiting Manager to support further development and to maintain effective working relationships with Maternity and Local Authority Children’s Services staff in order to promote responsive infant feeding in accordance with the UNICEF’S Baby Friendly Standards (BFI).

The Post Holder Will

  • In collaboration with their HV Manager, assist in the development and implementation of infant feeding policies and guidelines that support and improve breastfeeding rates.
  • Work across a range of settings and organisational boundaries to support staff and volunteers in the community.
  • Work closely with the service manager, infant feeding champions, and the learning and development department to develop and facilitate infant feeding training.
  • Provide a specialist infant feeding resource to support Health Visiting practice.
  • Work with Commissioners and Midwifery colleagues to achieve the outcomes of the Infant Feeding contract.
  • Represent health interests at the Infant Feeding Strategy Group Meetings.

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester. Our 20,000 colleagues care for people in hospital and in the community, working across Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, and Salford, to save and improve lives.

We believe in our power and potential to make a difference and are looking for people who demonstrate our three core values: care, appreciate, and inspire to join our team.

In return, we offer a role with purpose and flexibility. The size and scale of the NCA provide more challenge and opportunities so your career can progress. We also offer a competitive benefits package, including an excellent annual leave allowance, flexible working opportunities, and protected hours for health and wellbeing activities to support a healthy work-life balance.
