Purpose of the Role


To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate the clear and consistent co-ordination of effective delivery of palliative care within the defined geographical area.


To act as the communication link between clinical staff and patients and their families, the Palliative Single Point of Access (PSPA, Neighbourhood Working partners, and visitors to the Wellbeing Centres.


To undertake administrative duties as directed by the Clinical Service Manager to enable the efficient and effective provision of Hospice Community Services, including the co-ordination, planning and support of meetings and training events for staff and volunteers.

Annual Leave

We offer a minimum of 29 days a year, plus bank holidays. The Trust also offers a Long Service Annual Leave Award of 1 additional day after 5, 10 and 15-years' service. In addition, we also offer the opportunity to buy or sell up to one week’s annual leave per year. Criteria apply.

St Barnabas Hospice offers its employees either a generous contributory pension scheme or the opportunity of continuing an NHS pension scheme.


Occupational sick pay

The Trust offers an above statutory occupational sick pay scheme for employees who have passed their probationary period. Criteria apply.


Death in service

Employees actively enrolled in the NHS Pension scheme qualify for death in service benefits through the NHS pension scheme. All other employees are entitled to death in service insurance cover at 2x the individual's gross salary.


Special and compassionate leave
