Job description

Fixed Term for 12 months

We are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated Community Safety Technicians to work within the Community Safety Team.

This new role will support problem solving, enforcement, support, and engagement in a multi-agency hub working closely with Northumbria Police, housing specialists, support agencies, and other key partners.

The role involves a lot of walking/patrolling to engage with businesses, partners, residents, and visitors to the City Centre.

You will support the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviour by reporting incidents and engaging with communities, stakeholders, and partners to address problem areas. You will also facilitate and participate in local projects and community partnerships to support the priorities of Safe Newcastle.

You should have a good understanding of issues affecting neighborhoods, as well as knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation, enforcement strategies, and techniques to tackle issues.

Communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

The candidate must have experience and good knowledge of working in neighborhoods. Competence in using IT systems is also required.

It is essential that you are willing to occasionally work outside standard hours.
