The role

As a Community Safe and Well Coach you’ll visit customers across safe accommodation to complete safe and well checks. You’ll keep their safety at the heart of everything you do, identifying risks and putting the best solutions in place for them.

In this role you’ll work 5pm-11pm on a shift pattern of ‘four on, four off.’

Job Requirements

  • Visit customers to carry out safe and well checks. You’ll make sure that their safety is paramount and challenge any issues, such as ASB.
  • Ensure customers feel welcome when the first move in to refuge or the community. You’ll work with them to address their priorities and support with practical things such as benefit claims.
  • Create customer focused safety plans and risk management plans to address personal safety.
  • Answer the on-call out of hours phone line and respond to any issues or emergencies in both refuge and the community.
  • Ensure that all accommodation is secure, and that health and safety standards are met.
  • Assess any evident risk or safeguarding issues whilst carrying out your duties and respond appropriately in line with the risk management policy.

  • Support customers to connect with their community through activities and events, with the aim of reducing loneliness and isolation.

What We’re Looking For

  • A good standard of education, for example GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Experience risk assessing and supporting people with complex needs.
  • A genuine understanding of people in abusive relationships. You’ll be their voice so you’ll need great communication skills to provide them with the best support to keep them safe.
  • Be up to date with current issues, laws and best practice in domestic abuse related areas. Have a knowledge of working within professional boundaries and safeguarding policies.
  • Basic ICT skills and experience of Microsoft Office.
  • Great problem solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
  • Able to work independently and remotely, being self-motivated with great time management and the ability to prioritise high-risk cases.
  • A full UK driving licence and a vehicle suitable for business use.
  • DBS check.
