Job overview

Looking for a confident, enthusiastic trainer to support the community resuscitation team in offering communities a range of emergency life support training across Cumbria. The post will be funded by the NHS Charities Together initiative.

Responsible for teaching high-quality health, welfare, and safety education & training programmes to members of the public, commercial & educational establishments, in accordance with national guidelines standards.

Contribute to the review of existing programmes and the development of new programmes.

Main duties of the job

Plan and prepare instructional methods and materials for work-based courses, ensuring high quality of content, delivery, and methodology.

Plan resources required for individual programmes; ensure effective utilization and account for resource use when required.

Deliver learning using various styles and methodologies, adapted to learners' needs, to motivate and engage. Adjust lessons as needed to meet individual needs within programme requirements.

Demonstrate clinical skills and correct equipment use, offering best practice techniques to students.

Person specification

Qualifications and Education

  • Diploma-level education or equivalent experience in teaching/training, health, and wellbeing.
  • Instructor certification relevant to training programmes, e.g., D32/33, Cert Ed.
  • Recent CPD evidence.
  • Clinical practice background.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to design and deliver training to meet objectives, including theory, practical, and assessment.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
