Are you passionate about parks, people, and making a real difference in your local community?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Community Relationship Manager to join the Parks Development Team in Bromley. Working through idverde's partnership with the London Borough of Bromley, you'll be the driving force behind community engagement across the borough's award-winning parks and open spaces.

This is a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with local stakeholders-from Friends of Parks groups to schools, sports clubs, councillors, residents, and more. If you're a natural collaborator, confident communicator, and thrive in a varied role that combines strategy, mentorship, event coordination, and hands-on delivery-this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement & Community Development

  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Act as a central liaison between Friends groups, community partners, idverde, and Bromley Council.
  • Support and mentor community groups, helping them grow and thrive.
  • Encourage and support the formation of new Friends groups in underrepresented areas.
  • Guide community-led projects through planning and approvals.
  • Help identify funding opportunities and support bid writing.
  • Collaborate on award applications like Green Flag and London in Bloom.
  • Deputise for the Fundraising Manager when required.

Events & Corporate Engagement

  • Organise and lead community and corporate volunteer days.
  • Promote social responsibility through corporate partnerships.
  • Ensure safe, inclusive, and productive volunteer activities.

Operational Support & Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams to translate community feedback into service improvements.
  • Support biodiversity and sustainability initiatives in collaboration with key partners.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and report on KPIs: community satisfaction, engagement, volunteer hours, and funding impact.
  • Maintain accurate records and support the delivery of reports for senior managers and stakeholders.

Communications & Promotion

  • Promote parks and open spaces via social media, campaigns, newsletters, and events.
  • Share success stories to highlight community impact and increase visibility.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience supporting or mentoring community/volunteer groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices, particularly in volunteer settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.).
  • Full UK driving licence.

You'll Thrive in This Role If You Are

  • A confident, clear communicator who can build trust across diverse communities.
  • Passionate about public green spaces and equitable access for all.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Adaptable - able to switch between big-picture planning and on-the-ground delivery.
  • Inclusive, ethical, and community-minded with a strong sense of civic pride.

Why Join Us?

At idverde, you'll be part of a mission to protect and enhance green spaces while empowering local communities to take pride and ownership in their environment. You'll gain variety, autonomy, and purpose in a role where no two days are the same-and your work will make a lasting, visible difference.
