Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band Community Psychiatric Nurse within Denbighshire Substance Misuse Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment and treatment interventions to individuals who misuse substances, including risk assessment, substance use, social care, and psychological effects. The role involves working as an autonomous practitioner in community settings, including clients’ homes. The post holder will manage a caseload, support individuals through their treatment, and supervise junior staff members, supporting their development.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will possess knowledge and experience of substance misuse interventions and treatment. Effective communication skills are essential to engage, motivate, and maintain contact with service users, as well as to develop and evaluate treatment programs. Induction will be tailored to individual needs. The role involves working with both alcohol and drug misuse service users.
